Tomorrow is MM’s first day of second grade. Wednesday is BB’s first day of 4K. That makes today basically the last day of summer vacation!

We met BB’s 4K teacher on Friday and got to see the classroom. There were so many awesome toys for playing make believe – a water table, blocks, a toy kitchen, dress up clothes, dolls, a toy washer and dryer – basically any aspect of our lives, they’ve made a play version of it. Needless to say, the kids were in their glory and MM is probably a little jealous that his sister will get to hang out there every day.

Her teacher seems really nice and I am really looking forward to seeing how her first year of schooling goes and how her learning style compares to her brothers. Will she be an over achieving egg head like brother and father or more of a normal nerdy chic like momma or perhaps even not nerdy at all? I suppose it’s possible.

We’ve had a wonderful summer – camping trips to Door County and Dodgeville, seeing Smurfs 2, Despicable Me 2 and Epic, a trip back to MA to visit family, trips to the beach, Die Hard movie marathons, cub scout camp, the school district summer camps, playing in the sprinkler, 30 Rock, lots of frozen yogurt. Basically it was a perfect summer. But we are all looking forward to the coming school year. I have no idea what I’ll do with myself for the three hours four days a week that both kids are at school but I’m sure they will go by fast!
