What Are You Reading Wednesdays is hosted by It’s A Reading Thing. To play along, open the book you are currently reading to page 34 (or 34% in your ebook) and answer these three questions.
The Questions are:
- What’s the name of your current read?
- Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your eBook and share a complete sentence. (or two!)
- Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?
Right now I’m reading Bellweather Rhapsody by Kate Racculia with my book club. It’s kind of a murder mystery gritty realistic fiction kind of book that is told from multiple points of view and seems intent on keeping me confused and slightly off skelter. I haven’t really decided how I feel about it yet.
Here’s an excerpt from the 34% mark on the kindle edition, which is slightly farther along than I’ve actually read:
“Why does he do this do himself? Every year, on every anniversary, as though their deaths were an act he could have prevented, Harold Hastings imagines a new future for an unchangeable past.”
Technically, I do live in the world that exsists within the book. It’s very much set in normal ordinary earth and the circumstances are pretty realistic, if a bit grim. I do not think I’d want to live the life of any of the main characters so far. They are all fairly broken in their own unique ways, which I suppose is not uncommon but I’ll take my own personal kind of broken over any of theirs thankyouverymuch.
What are you reading right now?
