Any WordPress Twitter-ers?

So I decided that since twittering is all the rage with bloggers these days, despite not entirely understand the hype, that I’d better hop on board, before I’m left behind. I already had a twitter account (my account name is bookstorebetty), but I’m going to now make an effort to actually use it. Anyway, here’s my problem:

I want to put one of those twitter badges on my blog but it won’t display right – I’ve tried both the java badge and the HTML one and both just do nothing – the most I’ve managed to get up is a link to my twitter page, which isn’t bad, but it’d be more convenient if it’d pipe out a recent update or two like it’s SUPPOSED to.

So, I’ll end this S.O.S. post with a quick poll for anyone out there:

Is twittering really all that and a bag of chocolate covered sunflower seeds, or just another web hype that aught to be twatted?

  1. I have a twitter account, and I like it, but I haven’t really grasped the whole concept yet. I pretty much just follow people whose blogs I follow because none of my friends are on it. Personally I think it’s just a fun way to let everyone know what you’re up to, and knowing what everyone else is doing. I don’t know I’m torn…

  2. Hey There,

I’m a twitter fan & avid user. I think you’ll enjoy Twitter if you really dive in head first and give it a whirl. It’s a great community and really brings people together like nothing I’ve seen before.

I have a lot of twitter tips posted on my blog and the main widget I suggest and use to incorporate “Tweets” directly into your blog is one developed by a fellow named “Sean Spalding” – the widget is pretty easy to configure and you can find it here:

  3. I jumped on the twitter bandwagon,,sure it’s fun to see what people are doing at the moment. Thing is if I wanted to tweet someone how would I know their on? I don’t use a mobile device at all..I know Im one of the odd ones, so it doesn’t work for me there. Seems you’d be charged on your phone for all the texts. Obviously Im clueless.
Jump on board, I’ll follow you though really Im clueless.
