Aloha Friday: Fall TV

So as you all probably know by now, In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that you take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So over at An Island Life, Kailani decided that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. She’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life’s blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

So my question this Friday is:

What fall tv show are you MOST looking forward to, and why?

I’m very torn right now between answering Grey’s Anatomy or Bones. When the seasons ended, I’d have told you Grey’s Anatomy with no hesitation whatsoever. But this summer my husband and I started renting the Bones shows due to sheer boredom and got SO hooked on them that we went from, “Sure this looks ok?” to “DO WE HAVE A NEW BONES DISC TO WATCH TONIGHT?????” to “Oh Zacky, how COULD you?

And see, here’s the thing – my husband tolerates my Grey’s obsession and watches it with me, but Bones I think I can safely say he genuinely loves about as much as I do – although there are few tv shows that he genuinely gets wrapped up in the way I do – he just isn’t that kind of person.

So what’s my answer? Sorry, still a tie. I am avidly looking forward to Grey’s just as much. (BTW, we watch a lot of other shows, too, we’re big tv junkies in the normal tv seasons – hey it’s cheap – but those are the two shows that I’d be livid if I missed and no I’m not joking)

How about you?

  1. Well, two of my favs seem to be yours too. I’m also looking forward to Amazing Race. I love to see the world even if it’s through the eyes of another.

  2. I haven’t watched either of those shows and I live in Seattle where Greys Anatomy takes place . 😦 Any who, let’s see I’m looking forward to watching The Tudors second season, which I will have to watch on DVD after it is done on HBO because I don’t subscribe.

  3. Love Grey’s Anatomy and can not wait to pick up where it left off. I really just hope that they can avoid an actors strike after last years mess with the writers.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. I’m totally looking forward to Bones coming back on, too. I love that show and was in tears at the end of the finale and pretty shook up for a week after watching it.

Anyway, me and my husband are the same about a few shows. He got in the habit of watching House with me but it isn’t only because I complained that I watched a lot of shows he liked just to spend time with him but he never did the same.

But Bones…we’ve both been watching it from episode 1 and both enjoy it.

  5. ok now it sounds like ALL we do is watch tv – we play card games and board games and go for family walks some nights also 🙂 But really, we are saving for a house, so we don’t spend much when we can help it, we don’t have much maintenance to do since we’re in an apartment and I’m home all day to do chores. But after 8pm? Momma’s off duty. 🙂 Oh and have I mentioned I love reading? hahaha

  6. @ Kelley : I know sometimes it can be hard to get into a show if you can’t watch it regularly. We have our 2 shows or so each night that we love but we also can’t afford to do much more than watch tv (or netflix during the summer) and with just the one 2 year old, what else do we have to do once he’s in bed? 🙂

  7. This is going to come as a shocking horror to some of you…but…. I dont really get to watch TV. At my office, they are always talking American Idol and I just have to say…ahh, did not catch that one.
I love lots of shows; but since I just get to watch so randomly, never really get ‘hooked’…..

I do love The Office ( who wants man meat?) and also happy to have found HULU.com as I can see some TV on my laptop.

    Great question!

  8. @ andrea : My husband used to watch that show at the gym (you know back when we used our gym memberships) and liked it a lot – I like Jason Lee, but wasn’t very good at keeping up with the show. I totally know what you mean about the simpler shows though – we only watch a few of the dramas, then fill in with the fluff. 🙂

  9. I’m looking forward to My Name is Earl. I just love that show! I don’t have the time or energy to keep up with dramas, so I really like simpler reality shows and sitcoms. 🙂

  10. I keep thinking I need to watch the Office, but hubby and I both, every time we try, just can’t get into it… I don’t know what’s wrong with us, Ditto with the Sopranos…

  11. I heard the rumors, I’ve also heard from Chandra and others that it isn’t true (assuming you mean the whole her dying from a tumor thing) and okay, yes she gets on my nerves sometimes, but if she makes good on what I’m hoping she makes good on and hooks up with Alex, I’m willing to forgive her in full. And you know there was a moment when the George Izzie thing really was cute…

    You know this one…

But on the whole, the whole Denny thing, brilliant, baking thing, love it, prom dress bathroom thing, yeah I ate that shit up. If anything Meredith had been the annoying one up until recently ,and I love her.
