Aloha Friday: Indulge Me

It’s time for another Aloha Friday, the day that you take it easy and look forward to the weekend, in Hawaii and blog land anyway. As you should know by now, over at An Island Life, Kailani decided that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting and ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life’s blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

I’m pretty sure you will probably see a dozen or more questions about the 4th of July today which is cool but seeing as we’re all 1,000 miles away from everyone we know and don’t like crowds of strangers, we’re not planning anything typical for our 4th this year (well that’s not true – we’re planning a picnic bbq of sorts at some local park or beach where hopefully nobody else will be). So anyway, whatev – as much as I’m looking forward to the 4th of July, I’ll be honest, I’m mostly just looking forward to the FOOD. I’m going to make lemon bars – there will also be homemade beef teriyaki, bratwurst, deviled eggs, pasta salad, celery with peanut butter and maybe some popcorn. Seriously – just for the 3 1/2 of us.

But the thing is – this doesn’t even begin to satiate all the cravings I’m having lately. I dealt with foodie desires REALLY well for most of my pregnancy, counting my calories away like a good little preggo. But for the past week or so, or maybe more, it’s getting harder. Like all I want to do is throw away the rules and just INDULGE for all I’m worth in all things sweet and salty and delicious and not count a single bite. But I also don’t want to gain 80 pounds in the last three weeks of my pregnancy. So I’m trying to behave and getting in a few indulgences where I can…

Anyway for Aloha Friday, tell me…

If you could indulge in one thing right now, what would it be?

  1. It would have to be Kentucky Fried Chicken – a Twister with fries and corn on the cob. I can’t remember the last time I had one of those.
