We’re on the brink of a thunderstorm this morning, making for a dreary and gloomy Friday morning. Hard to believe that it was nearly 90 degrees yesterday. We’ve actually had beautiful weather this week, if a bit on the muggy and pollen-filled side.
Our week involved a lot of running errands – shopping, going to the library, catching up on laundry and dishes. The kids watched a lot of tv and movies this week as I eased into a summer routine (i.e. plugged my ears, closed my eyes and tried to ignore it) but there were a few moments of Summer Fun:
drawing with sidewalk chalk and looking for bugs to catch
breaking out the sunglasses and wide brimmed hats
drinking just one more iced coffee or maybe two more…
Cute kids saying silly, random things about elephants
reading comics in our PJs together on lazy mornings
It’s been a quiet week as I tip toe into facing the reality of several months ahead of me that likely won’t involve many naps. Next week I’ll get my act together and we’ll do Fun Things and really embrace the season. Right now, I am just thankful for the coming weekend.
And coffee. I’m ever so thankful for coffee.
