We were in the car driving to Target (duh, where else would we be going?) when “Say Something” came on the radio. I did an internal happy dance because I’m obsessed, obsessed with this song though I would be happier if Alex & Sierra’s version was on the radio because – love.
If you don’t know the song, here are some of the lyrics because it lends context to my story:
Say something, I’m giving up on you
I’ll be the one, if you want me to
Anywhere I would’ve followed you
Say something, I’m giving up on you
Anyway, after a couple of lines my daughter, age 4, says to me:
“When are we giving up on THIS SONG mommy? … because I HATE it”
And I just… died. On the one hand, hey shut up, I love this song. But on the other hand, when did she learn such perfectly timed snark? Clearly she is a natural and future high school girls everywhere should look out because she is COMING for you.
One response to “Things my four year old says.”
So funny! At least she didn’t make you change it. We finally saw Pitch Perfect the other night and loved it. We are that behind.
