It’s hard to believe that another week has come and gone. This was kind of a crazy week and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t relieved to see the weekend come again. There are still several hours until Friday turns into Friday night – if you are trying to whittle the hours down, here are a few things to distract you while you wait.

Are you watching Convos With My 2 Year Old on youtube? They are three episodes into season 3 and the episodes continue to be hilarious. Coco and BB have a LOT in common, which only makes the show funnier for me. Loved the latest episode.

This bourbon pecan pie with dark chocolate at Joy the Baker looks so good! I want to be a pie baking super hero, too!

A cup of toasted coconut cold brew coffee from A Beautiful Mess would go perfect with that pie, don’t you think? I’m super intrigued by this whole Toddy thing – anyone tried it before?

How gorgeous is this DIY office desk made from IKEA kitchen components? I love my desk actually which my husband made for me with his BARE hands. I think what I’m really digging about this desk (apart from the cleverness) is how clean it is! Someday I will have a clean office desk, for approximately twelve seconds.

This is How I Feel at Neon Fresh is one of my favorite Friday rituals – the first one this week is exactly me except replace leaving the curling iron on with “is the door locked / garage door open / etc” – every time!

I was so disappointed to see Alex Preston voted off this week though I had a feeling it was coming. He’s been my favorite for most of the season (and the only one this season that I’ve bought any songs from on iTunes) but he doesn’t make as much noise as Caleb and Jena who have also done very well this season (Jena with her amazing vocals and Caleb with his showmanship). Though I’ll be genuinely happy for whoever wins, I had been hoping Alex would make it to the finale – although many have pointed out that the 3rd place contestants often do very well for themselves and that he may be lucky to not get locked into an Idol contract. Only time will tell.

Till then, here are two favorite recent performances (above and below).

 Have a great weekend guys!

I’ve been an Idol Fan from the very beginning. Although once Simon and Paula left it just wasn’t the same. I think I watched it up until Carrie as a diehard fan of Idol. Then it started only the last three weeks. Then it turned into the last two weeks & peeking in from time to time. Then was the final show, and then just here & there or watching it on You Tube. I really do like these three judges though! The last few years it just hasn’t had good Idol winners. I loved it with Cat Fever I must say… but they picked the wrong one that year and it dwindled down… This guy has a wonderful voice and feeling, but he just does not look the part in my opinion to be an Idol! Have a great weekend, and thanks for sharing!

I am not an idol fan. Not since the season with Clay and Reuben. I still think Clay should have won!!

You are probably right considering that (all told) Clay probably had a more notable career.
