What Are You Reading Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by It’s A Reading Thing. To participate, open the book you are currently reading to page 34 (or 34% in your ebook) and answer these three questions.
The Questions are:
- What’s the name of your current read?
- Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your eBook and share a complete sentence. (or two!)
- Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?
Right now I’m reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho because Macklemore keeps telling me to. Here’s an excerpt from the 34% point in the Kindle edition:
“He smoked in silence, thinking of nothing, and listening to the sound of the wind that brought the scent of the desert. When he had finished his smoke, he reached into one of his pockets, and sat there for a few moments regarding what he had withdrawn.”
I’m not sure that the world in this book is all that different from the world we live in – people realizing or not realizing their dreams and people being delusional about what their dreams are and what it means to realize them. It would be pretty cool to see some of the places in the book – to climb that mountain and drink tea from the crystal glasses inside the shop at the top. I’ll take a hard pass on being a shepherd though. I have enough kids to look after without adding 60+ sheep to my flock.
What are you reading right now?

I’m reading Winter and The Bronte Plot. I’m enjoying both, but Winter I’m enjoying a whole lot more. 🙂

I’m hoping to read Winter soon – in between or after my current read and this month’s book club pick.
