I thought I’d take a moment to look back at last year’s resolutions and see how well I did at making positive changes in my life and then think about my goals for 2015.
Last year my resolutions were to:
Drink more water. I think I have done pretty good for this although I’ll confess that since switched to a mostly caffeine free lifestyle, that I discovered cranberry sierra mist and I’ve probably been enjoying too many.
Drink tea at night. My doctor recommended drinking non-caffeinated tea at night instead of snacking. The hot tea is relaxing and gives your stomach the sensation of being full. Hubby and I gave this one a fair shake and while we’ve not been able to turn it into a nightly ritual, we do have nighttime tea with some regularity.
Take dog for walks / go to gym 5 days a week. I’ll be honest, this hasn’t really happened. I’ll blame the new job but since when have I stuck with a workout plan for a full calendar year?
Read more classics and books I own. I’ve done okayyy at this. I’m definitely still buying books but I do try and read at least one book a month or so that I already own and I read A Wrinkle in Time, Mary Poppins, Bedknob and Broomstick, Christmas with Anne, and A Study in Scarlet last year.
Take more pictures. I had on months and off months. This is a continuous goal for me. I got plenty of cell phone snapshots last year but I didn’t use my big and beautiful Nikon as much as I should.
All that said, my goals for 2015 are fairly minimal because I’m not convinced I can handle anything lofty. This year I hope to:
Eat three meals a day. This has been sadly inconsistent since joining the workforce. Nighttime snacks don’t count. Bonus points if I actually clock out for lunch instead of just scarfing down my food in the backroom and then running back to work.
Don’t worry about things I can’t control. Uh huh.
Be more awesome. Because a list of two things felt incomplete.

These are the kinds of goals dear and near to my heart. 🙂 I’m really not even making goals or resolutions this year but striving to be a little more productive each day than I was last year. Baby steps.
